Renewable Energy Siting Project
The Northern Middlesex Council of Governments (NMCOG) and the Montachusett Regional Planning Commission (MRPC), using funds from the Economic Development Administration (EDA) of the U.S. Department of Commerce, developed a plan for the Siting of Renewable Energy Facilities in the Northern Middlesex and Montachusett regions. The plan outlined actions and measures to encourage the siting of renewable energy facilities within the NMCOG and MRPC regions, and includes an Assessment and Analysis of Wind Energy Conversion Systems, Geothermal Energy, Photovoltaics, Hydropower, Biomass and a Regional Renewable Energy Manufacturing Lands Inventory and Assessment.
