NMCOG supports our communities in the development of Open Space & Recreation Plans, developing visions for brownfield redevelopment, assisting in the development of zoning amendments, and advancing equitable parks planning.

Transportation & Mobility

As staff to the Northern Middlesex Metropolitan Planning Organization, NMCOG develops key federally-required plans (Transportation Improvement Program, Unified Planning Work Program, and Long Range Transportation Plan). Beyond this work, staff collect and report transportation data, lead corridor studies, support greater transit access, advance pedestrian and bicycle access across the region, and implement the region's Vision Zero goals.

Regional or Interdisciplinary Plans

NMCOG strives to bring a regional and interregional perspective to all areas of planning and resource management by fostering cooperative efforts between municipalities, and encouraging collaboration between the public and private sectors. Our regional planning programs include land use planning, hazard mitigation, housing, emergency management, sustainability and growth management.
