Public Water Systems:
Approximately 60% of the Town is served by public
water
Trash Collection:
Tyngsborough has curbside trash pickup and recycling.
In FY99, total solid waste collected in Town was 4,708 tons. Recyclables totaled
another 1,100 tons.
Sewer:
Public sewer services 25% of the Town. Treatment is
provided at the Lowell Wastewater Utility.
Library:
Tyngsborough Public Library in FY09 had a circulation of
134,362 items.
Schools:
Tyngsborough school system
includes three elementary schools and one junior/senior high school. 2008 –
2009 enrollment: 2,083 pupils in the system. Tyngsborough is also a member
community for the Greater Lowell Vocational Technical High School.
Public Safety:
24 permanent officers staff Tyngsborough Police Dept.
The Fire Chief oversees an on – call Fire Dept. of 40 on-call firefighters.

Rail:
Commuter rail service to North Station, Boston, is
available at Lowell Gallagher Terminal or at North Billerica
Station (Travel time 40 min). Freight rail service is available from the
Springfield Terminal Railway, contact number: (978) 663 – 1073.
Bus:
Tyngsborough is a member of the Lowell Regional
Transit Authority (LRTA), which provides fixed bus service between Lowell and
Tyngsborough. Paratransit services for the elderly and disabled are available
through the Council on Aging.
TAX RATE (FY 2011): Residential - $14.17 per $1,000, Commercial- $14.17 per $1,000
