The Town of Tyngsborough Storm Water Management Plan (SWMP) for Phase II permitting must be designed to reduce the discharge of pollutants from the storm water drainage system to the maximum extent practicable (MEP) in order to protect water quality. The town has already selected storm water management controls and best management practices (BMPs) to address each of the six minimum control measures and potential activities for EPA compliance. These control measures are:

• Public Education and Outreach on Storm Water Impacts

• Public Participation and Involvement

• Illicit Discharge Detection and Elimination

• Construction Site Runoff Control

• Post-construction Storm Water Management in New Development and

• Redevelopment Pollution Prevention/Good Housekeeping for Municipal Operations
